JU VC visits Old Campus, lauds Engineering Wing for its resilience

JAMMU, June 9: As part of his endeavour to put in place the best facilities and infrastructure, today Prof Manoj K Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu paid a visit to the Old Campus of the university which houses Boys Hostel, residential quarters of teaching faculty and staff.
Prof Dhar visited the construction site of upcoming Staff Quarters in the old Campus which will accommodate about 2 dozen families. He took a round of the entire under-construction complex and enquired about various facilities being provided in the quarters. Prof Dhar emphasized and directed the Engineering Wing of the University to make special efforts to put work on the fast track and ensure that work is completed in a time-bound manner. Although, understanding that inspite of the COVID-19 pandemic the engineering team have shown their resilience and has put their best foot forward to ensure that work doesn’t get derailed and for that, they deserve all the plaudits.
Prof Dhar visited the Boys hostel located in the Old Campus and took stock of the facilities available to the boarders.
Vice-Chancellor also interacted with the residents of the Campus and passed on spot directions for addressing the grievances of some residents. He also directed Arboriculturist to develop the green areas on the campus. Prof. Dhar instructed the Superintendent Engineer and Executive Engineer to develop plans for providing residential accommodation to more teachers and other employees, keeping in view the Master plan of the campus.
Among others Prof Arvind Jasrotia, Registrar, University of Jammu, Dr Neeraj Sharma, Spl. Secy to VC, Prof Satinder Kumar, Provost (Hostels), Dr Tirath Ram, warden and Dr Nitin Katoch (R.wardens), Dr A R Manhas, Dr Panda, Er Vidhu Kumar Sharma, Superintendent Engineer, Er Suresh Sharma, Executive Engineer, Dr Imran Farooq, PRO to VC, and Er Rajiv Gupta, AEE, Ajmer and Suresh were also present on this occasion.
