SRINAGAR, June 9: The COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 92.10 percent today as 3,046 virus affected patients recovered in the past 24 hours. The union territory reported 1,098 new cases following which positive cases reached 303749; with 17 fresh deaths the death toll reached 4,118. Srinagar district reported 254 cases followed by Budgam district 113, Jammu district 97, Kupwara district 75, Anantnag district 69, Pulwama district 65, Kulgam district 64, Baramulla district 54, Rajouri district 46, Ganderbal and Doda districts 41 each, Ramban district 37, Poonch district 35, Bandipora district 23, Udhampur district 22, Kathua district 18, Shopian district 16, Kishtwar and Reasi districts 10 each and Samba district eight. Baramulla and Budgam districts each reported three fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by two deaths in Jammu district and a death each in Srinagar, Pulwama, Kupwara, Anantnag, Udhampur, Rajouri, Kathua, Kishtwar & Reasi districts. So far 2,118 people have died due to the virus in Kashmir valley while in Jammu division the number of such deaths is 2,000. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 1,098 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 324 from Jammu division and 774 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 03,749. Also 17 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, seven from Jammu division and 10 from Kashmir division. Moreover, 3,046 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 944 from Jammu division and 2,102 from Kashmir division. Out of 3, 03,749 positive cases, 19,852 are active positive, 2, 79,779 have recovered and 4,118 have died; 2,000 in Jammu division and 2,118 in Kashmir division. Out of 89, 85,138 test results available, 86, 81,389 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 21, 94,151 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 79,267 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 19,852 in isolation and 1, 43,463 in home surveillance. Besides, 19, 47,451 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 67,565 positive cases, 2,733 active positive, 64,030 recovered, 802 deaths; Baramulla has 22,398 positive cases, 1,913 active positive, 20,214 recovered, 271 deaths; Budgam has 21,462 positive cases, 1,324 active positive, 19,940 recovered, 198 deaths; Anantnag has 15,284 positive cases, 1,076 active positive, 14,021recovered, 187 deaths; Pulwama has 14,154 positive cases, 1,432 active positive, 12,545 recovered, 177 deaths. “Kupwara has 12,975 positive cases, 1,076 active positive, 11,749 recovered, 150 deaths; Kulgam has 10,521 positive cases, 1,151 active positive, 9,261 recovered, 109 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,173 positive cases, 636 active positive, 8,467 recovered, 70 deaths; Bandipora has 8,829 positive cases, 426 active positive, 8,306 recovered, 97 deaths and Shopian has 5,466 positive cases, 569 active positive, 4,840 recovered, 57 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 51,828 positive cases, 3,023 active positive, 47,701 recovered, 1104 deaths; Udhampur has 10,900 positive cases, 334 active positive, 10,436 recovered, 130 deaths; Rajouri has 10,223 positive cases, 720 active positive, 9,306 recovered, 197 deaths; Kathua has 9,018 positive cases, 186 active positive, 8,685 recovered, 147 deaths; Samba has 6,932 positive cases, 383 active positive, 6,434 recovered, 115 deaths. “Doda has 6,200 positive cases, 1,020 active positive, 5,087 recovered, 93 deaths; Poonch has 5,719 positive cases, 935 active positive, 4,704 recovered, 80 deaths; Ramban has 5,463 positive cases, 538 active positive, 4,868 recovered, 57 deaths; Reasi has 5,460 positive cases, 177 active positive, 5,244 recovered, 39 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,179 positive cases, 200 active positive, 3,941 recovered, 38 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 03,749 positive cases, 21,780 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
