Absconder in kidnapping, rape case held

REASI, June 9: Police today arrested an absconder wanted in kidnapping and rape case and was evading arrest since January 2021.
Ghulam Hussan, son of Mohd Hussain of Thub Thanol Tehsil Thakerakote (Arnas) Reasi was absconding in a case registered under FIR number 05/2021, dated 14 January 2021, U/S 366, 376 IPC at Police Station Arnas.
The accused was booked for heinous crime of kidnapping 21 years old Rubina (name changed) and repeatedly raping her in custody along with another accomplice.
One accused was immediately arrested while accused Ghulam Hussan evaded investigation by going underground and couldn’t be apprehended since the registration of FIR in January 2021 as he was changing his hideouts in militancy affected districts of Shopian and Kulgam in South Kashmir.
By meticulously planning and coordinated efforts, Reasi Police chased the accused till his arrest. Arnas Police team had already apprehended other accused Nissar Hussain S/O Mohd Hussain (elder brother of Ghulam Hassan) in the same case and challaned the said case on 01/03/21 while Ghulam Hussain could not be apprehended and was challaned U/S 299 IPC.
On arrest of 15th absconder by Reasi Police, Mohd Suleman Choudhari, Deputy Inspector General Police, Udhampur-Reasi Range has expressed his satisfaction and praise for the Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi and his team.
SSP Reasi Shailender Singh has geared up his whole police team and has resolved to leave no stone unturned to put hard core & long absconding criminals to justice by arresting and producing them before respective courts for judicial determination of their cases trial under laid down procedure of the law of the land.
