Mayor lays foundation stone of various development activities

Jammu, June 9: Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor alongwith Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor JMC, Satpal Karlupia, Councilor of ward no 32 today laid foundation stone of construction of Tanga Stand, along with suitable store & other allied works at Municipal land situated at Gole area leading towards Revenue Complex of ward no. 32 with an estimate cost of Rs 18 lacs .
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor told that number of families from the last many years are doing this traditional work through horses known as Tangas and earning their livelihood by this source. Earlier the tanga stand existed at canal head which was then shifted to Gole area and due to road widening, it has now again been reshifted at this particular site so that the poor families associated with this traditional trade may not suffer any more. Beside this, much needed work of fixing of barbed wire at about 8 Kanals of Municipal land near the site of proposed Tanga Stand at Gole was also started by the Mayor, Deputy Mayor & concerned Councilor of ward no. 32. Anil Kumar Executive Engineer, Raman Kapahi Assistant Executive Engineer, Mohit Gupta & Irshan Junior Engineers & other supervisory staff of project division of JMC also accompanied the Mayor during the tour of both sites. Later Mayor alongwith Purnima Sharma, Rajesh Gupta Ex. MLA East, Gopal Mahajan Councilor of ward no. 5 also attended an Ayush Medical Camp in the premises of CNI Church at Residency Road near Shaheedi Chowk Jammu of ward no.5 which was organized in collaboration with the Directorate of Indian System of Medicines Jammu (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani Sidha & Homeopathy).
Doctors from the concerned department as well as Sunil Prajapati, Karan Kumar, Brijesh Gupta, Chaman Lal & other prominent inhabitants of the locality were also remained present there. Immunity boosting medicines to more than 150 persons belonging to needy, poor & downtrodden families irrespective of any caste, creed, gender or religion were distributed free of cost during this medical camp.
Mayor & his team also thanks ISM department for organizing such type of free medical & awareness camps in the various wards of the city especially during the last one & half years since the spread of corona virus Pandemic and said that Ayush medicines boost immunity of the individual and also keep a person safe from any type of infection & illness and appeal to the general public to take full benefits of these free medical/awareness camps.
