Theatre empowers to overcome physical limitations, says Manish | Natrang's National Theatre Talk Show | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 9: Natrang's National Theatre Talk Show, 'Young Voices of Theatre' featured Sangeet Natak Akademi's Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Awardee, theatre actor, director, puppeteer and magician Manish Joshi Bismil today who shared his views with the global audience at the Facebook page of Natrang Jammu. Manish Joshi Bismil is a multifaceted artist who has pursued one-year diploma at the Himachal Cultural Research Forum and Theatre Academy. He has directed more than 35 full-length plays. He has also written eight full-length plays out of which six have been staged successfully. His play 'Hum to Aise Hi Hain' has been staged more than 108 times in the country and abroad in Lahore. He is in the visiting faculty of HCRFTA, Madhya Pradesh Natya Vidyalya, Bhopal. His play "Patloon" was featured in the 8th Theatre Olympics. He is the first director of India who has directed a play on Guru Nanak Dev Ji in "Kissagoi" form titled as "Satnam Waheguru". He is the man who started Theatre on Bikes in association with Jindal Stainless Steel Limited which has travelled more than 28000 kms across 12 States of the Country which is record in itself. In a candid and interesting conversation with Nartang's senior artist Neeraj Kant, Manish narrated his flamboyant journey of theatre with vivid citations and also disclosed how he conquered the problem of stammering with his dedication and determination. He expressed his gratitude towards the teachers who have taught him different facets of theatre with special mention of Sanjay Upadhyaya. He endeavoured to create a new language assimilating live puppetry, elements of magic and other motifs. Manish takes different meaningful and sensitive topics which are very tricky to handle otherwise and performs them through puppet shows for children as it instantly appeals to them and they get a positive impact of these performances. Manish believes that theatre requires time, energy and dedication and those who want to do it should have requisite patience and persistence. Theatre and TV actor/director Ravi Mohan would be featured in this talk show tomorrow. |
