RAMBAN, July 3: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today said that Ramban district has now been in the Green zone and more relaxations in market timing will be announced soon as per guidelines of UT Disaster Management Committee. Speaking at periodical press briefing, here today, he said 35600 persons in the 18-44 age group, have been vaccinated in the district, while the administration has mobilized the health department to achieve an enhanced target of 2500 covid tests per day to keep a tab on the positive cases. He further said that special efforts are being made by the Health Department to vaccinate 100% population in the 45 year and above age group within prescribed time. The Deputy Commissioner informed that the vaccination drive for the 18-44 year age group has witnessed overwhelming response across the district and good number of people is taking vaccination doses on a daily basis. “The vaccination process will be further scaled up to vaccinate all 1.21 lakh persons in the 18-44 year age group” he said. The DC said the administration has mobilized the Health Department to achieve an enhanced target of Covid testing in the district which is 2500 per day including 2000 RAT and 500 RT-PCR to trace the Positive cases and keep close vigil on the situation. ecovered and discharged, he said and added that presently there are 82 positive cases under treatment, while the district has witnessed 47 Covid deaths. He said that the district has made significant infrastructural development in the health sector especially by establishing Rural Covid Care Centres in 143 Panchayats of the district and a Medical Oxygen Gas Plant in District Hospital, which will be soon commissioned. “Most of the CCCs have also been provided with Medical Oxygen Concentrators. For the rest the Oxygen Concentrators would be supplied by Jammu Kashmir Medical Supplies Corporation very soon” he said. The DC said that while taking strict action against the violation of Covid safety protocols, the enforcement teams have recovered Rs 28.25 lakh fine since April 1. He said keeping in view the apprehension of resurgence of Covid infection, especially when more commercial activities are being allowed by enhancing market timing, the District Administration has ordered the Enforcement teams to take strict action against violators, especially at busy markets and tourist spots of Patnitop, Sanasar and Dagantop etc. The DC said that Police and MVD are conducting regular checking drives to implement the order regarding plying of vehicles at 50% of total seating capacity. Referring to relaxation in Covid restrictions in the district, the DC urged the people to avoid going to crowded places. |
