SRINAGAR, July 3: The COVID-19 recovery rate in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 97.35 percent as 497 virus affected persons recovered in the past 24 hours. With 338 new cases being reported in the same time the total number of positive cases reached 3, 16,629. Srinagar reported 96 cases followed by Doda district 42, Ganderbal district 21, Budgam district 20, Baramulla, Kupwara and Anantnag districts 19 each, Pulwama and Kulgam districts 16 each, Jammu and Kishtwar districts 14 each, Rajouri district 12, Bandipora district 10, Poonch district seven, Udhampur and Ramban districts four each, Kathua district three and Shopian district two cases. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 338 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 100 from Jammu division and 238 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 16,629. Also two COVID-19 deaths have been reported; one each from Jammu and Kashmir divisions. Moreover, 497 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 177 from Jammu division and 320 from Kashmir division. Besides this, 87.84 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across Jammu & Kashmir. One more case of Mucormycosis has been reported today following which the total number of cases is 30. Out of 3, 16,629 positive cases, 4,048 are active positive, 3, 08,246 have recovered and 4,335 have died; 2,113 in Jammu division and 2,222 in Kashmir division. Out of 1, 01, 38,591 test results available, 98, 21,962 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 24, 57,566 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 11,644 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 4,048 in isolation and 2, 34,430 in home surveillance. Besides, 22, 03,109 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 70,217 positive cases, 784 active positive, 68,604 recovered, 829 deaths; Baramulla has 23,309 positive cases, 263 active positive, 22,767 recovered, 279 deaths; Budgam has 22,625 positive cases, 220 active positive, 22,201 recovered, 204 deaths; Anantnag has 16,135 positive cases, 154 active positive, 15,778 recovered, 203 deaths; Pulwama has 14,913 positive cases, 167 active positive, 14,554 recovered, 192 deaths. “Kupwara has 13,852 positive cases, 225 active positive, 13,462 recovered, 165 deaths; Kulgam has 11,105 positive cases, 172 active positive, 10,817 recovered, 116 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,641 positive cases, 185 active positive, 9,380 recovered, 76 deaths; Bandipora has 9,322 positive cases, 114 active positive, 9,108 recovered, 100 deaths and Shopian has 5,558 positive cases, 10 active positive, 5,490 recovered, 58 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 52,425 positive cases, 504 active positive, 50,786 recovered, 1,135 deaths; Udhampur has 11,191 positive cases, 86 active positive, 10,974 recovered, 131 deaths; Rajouri has 10,733 positive cases, 119 active positive, 10,394 recovered, 220 deaths; Kathua has 9,215 positive cases, 26 active positive, 9,040 recovered, 149 deaths; Samba has 7,087 positive cases, 52 active positive, 6,916 recovered, 119 deaths. “Doda has 6,894 positive cases, 235 active positive, 6,542 recovered, 117 deaths; Poonch has 6,117 positive cases, 205 active positive, 5,820 recovered, 92 deaths; Reasi has 5,924 positive cases, 269 active positive, 5,612 recovered, 43 deaths; Ramban has 5,859 positive cases, 111 active positive, 5,684 recovered, 64 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,507 positive cases, 147 active positive, 4,317 recovered, 43 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 16,629 positive cases in J&K, 22,413 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces, wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
