‘VVIPs don’t know what power cuts mean as they get electricity 24x7’
7/4/2021 12:24:23 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, July 3: VVIPs continue to enjoy 24x7 power supply despite Jammu facing unscheduled cuts during ongoing peak summer season.
Sources told Early Times that there are several power lines for uninterrupted power supply for the VVIPs in Jammu city. “Wazarat road area has a special power supply line as top bureaucrats stay there. Similar facilities are available in other VIP areas of Jammu city.”
“Gandhi Nagar, the second preferable place for bureaucrats and politicians, who stay in government accommodations also have a separate power supply line”, sources said, adding that similarly there is a separate line for Circuit House area.
“At a time when the residents of the entire Jammu cityare facing hardships amid high temperature and frequent power cuts, the VVIPs are enjoying the privilege of having separate power supply lines,” said a resident.
He said, “Unfortunately people of Jammu have no door to knock for their rights. Power supply last remained affected and interrupted for days together. The assurances of the government have fallen flat as power outages continue to haunt people.”
The resident said, “Bureaucrats and others running J&K have no idea about what power cuts mean as they get uninterrupted power supply.”
“It reminds us, Omar Abdullah, as Chief Minister, kept himself by cutting off power supply to his Gupkar residence, as at that time, entire Kashmir was in dark due to power crisis,” they said, adding that “UT administration has failed to resolve power crisis in Jammu.”
