Strict weekend lockdown continues in Kishtwar as COVID-19 cases surges

Kishtwar, July 3: Following continuous surge in COVID-19 cases, the strict weekend lockdown continued in Kishtwar district and as many as 15 different areas are still under containment zone measures in the district.
As per the details available with Early Times, various teams of Kishtwar police laid surprise Nakkas at various places and challan various people for mask violation, traffic violations and lockdown violations at different place. Police team also took swift action against the people gathered at Kishtwar Chowghan ground for morning and evening walks.
Police vehicle also made announcements making the people aware about the use of mask and other SOPs to be followed for appropriate COVID behavior.
Meanwhile, in order to take effect measures to prevent the spread of COVID 19 pandemic, the District administration in Kishtwar after declaring four areas of Pochhal village in outskirts of Kishtwar town as micro containment zones today beginning the testing of the people in these containment zones to check the severity of the infection in these areas.
Official sources told Early Times that the marriage in the village has become the cause for the surge of COVID-19 cases in these areas with as many as over two dozen cases reported from these areas in last few days. Senior officials once again urged the people to follow appropriate COVID-19 behavior and help the administration in controlling the spread of the disease in the district.
