Tajinder demands reserve constituencies for 1947 DPs | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 3: Renowned social political activist Sardar Tajinder Singh has urged Delimitation commission to constitute at least three reserved constituencies for Displaced Person (DPs) of 1947 from POK out of seven increased seats for time being till section 63 of Reorganisation Act is reviewed and amended. Tajinder said that Sikhs are main beneficiary community as it settled in Jammu and Kashmir after 1947 partition and everything is lost by Sikh community till today as they are still running from pillar to post to get their rights reserved in Jammu and Kashmir but unfortunately no one has from any political party resolved the issues of their grievances. Tajinder said that commission can carve out easily two constituencies for DPs in view of having their large population in RS Pura, Gandhi Nagar, and Suchetgarh in Jammu. As DPs are most suffering section of society and their legitimate grievances with regard to their adequate rehabilitation have always been ignored and now this is the right time when problem of DPs can be resolved by giving reserved constituencies to Displaced persons. |
