Online poster making/paper bag making competition organized

Jammu, July 3: NSS Units, Govt. P. G. College Rajouri, on the occasion of International Plastic Bag Free Day, organized an online inter-college Poster making/Paper bag making Competition on the theme “Say No to Plastic” in order to commemorate Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsava 2021 -Celebration of India’s 75th anniversary of Independence under the aegis of the principal of the college Prof. Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Raina. The objective of the event was to raise awareness about the grave issues of plastic pollution and the serious threat that it poses to the natural environment ranging from land to marine life. Students from different colleges participated with artistic posters promoting the use of eco-friendly items such as paper bags or cloth bags instead of plastic bags to get rid of the single-use plastic bags.
Sadhana Kumari student of GDC Samba bagged first position where as Aksa Dar and Sofia Sultana of Govt. P. G. College Rajouri were adjudged 2nd and 3rd respectively in poster making category.
Zahid Qayoom student of Govt. P. G. College Rajouri and Mohini Rajput student of GDC Samba were adjudged as best in paper bag making category. All the participants will be awarded with ecertificates. Prof Supriya Gupta and Dr Naseem Ahmed NSS Programme Officers were the organizers of the event.
