Jammu, July 3: Government Degree college Marh organized one day Awareness programme on Plastic Waste management under the guidance and supervision of Prof Aekta Gupta . The programme started with formal welcome of Resource person Sanjeev Arora, CEO Regional and Urban Development Agency, Jammu by Principal of College. The Key Resource person through light about the effects of plastic and waste to the environment and health of human lives by causing deadly disease like cancer, infertility issues .Whereas he stressed the need to work on it from home to society by adopting measures of Sustainable Development. The programme was in collaboration of Azaadi ka Maha Amrit Mahostava ,NSS Unit with EVS Department of College. The pledge was also taken after lecture by Sachin Bhagat PO of Organising Committee. Students also made different types of cloth and hand bags. In another activity presented through video by Eco club of college, students participated in slogan writing of adopting eco friendly practices to overcome the problem of plastic waste. The organising committee included Anjana Chib, Asst. Prof in EVS, Shakun Sharma, Asst.Prof in Sociology, Satish Kumar, PO NSS. The programme was ended with Vote of thanks by Asha Kumari, Asst. Prof in Geography. |
