Jammu, July 3: Psychological counselling cell of Govt. MAM College (constituent college of Cluster University Jammu) in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Ministry Of Education, Govt. of India organized an online workshop for students and faculty in which Ajay Tanwar, a representative of MGNCRE who has varied experience in the field of academics, handling finance, organizing and conducting workshops, apprised the students and faculty about the covid helpers’ skills. It was an interactive session in which students and faculty participated and learnt various important skills like “listening carefully, understanding the needs, emotions and issues of the covid patients or any family member of the covid patients”. Ajay informed the students how important it is to understand the trauma being faced by covid patients or their families. He emphasized upon being empathetic toward such families. ‘We’ instead of ‘I’ was one of the major highlights of the session in which importance for team building and team spirit was emphasized. It was also discussed how various teams are to be formed to facilitate covid sufferers in getting emotional support medical, medical aid, food, and financial help during the tough conditions of pandemic. Overall the session was very informative and helpful in understanding the needs of covid sufferers and their families. |
