KATHUA, Jan 24: In connection to its activities under National Girl Child Day, the NSS units of GDC Kathua concluded the celebrations by organizing "Kavi Darbaar" on the occasion of National Girl Child Day. This programme was celebrated under the directions of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Government of India and NSS Regional Directorate New Delhi. In today's event more than ten volunteers participated as poet in the Kavi Darbaar. Volunteers recited poems on the different issues of the women like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Say No to Dowry, Stop Early Child Marriage, Stop Foeticide, Stop Eve Teasing etc. More than hundred volunteers attended this programme.
Kashish Sharma, Natasha, Alishea Mahotra, Kaushal Kumar, Aman Prajapati, Mehak Gupta, Ritika Jasrotia, Riya Sharma, Arpita Andotra and Tania Sharma were the main poetesses and poets in the Kavi Darbaar. Poster making competition and symposium were the other activities which were organized under the series of events. The event was organized under the patronage of Incharge Principal Prof Raj Kiran Sharma and supervision of NSS Programme Officer Prof Manmohan Singh, Prof Ritu Kumar Sharma and Prof Neha Bandral. |
