Jammu, Jan 24: Employees of Health Department dumping their PPE kit, gloves and other things after handling a dead body of a COVID-19 patient at Bhuta Nagar here on Monday triggered outrage in the area.
According to the residents, the victim died in the night. The ambulance arrived in the late hours but left the body there.
“In the morning medical staff returned.
Picked up the body and dumped whatever they were wearing outside the house of the victim,” residents said.
“It’s unfortunate that the health officials who keep on preaching that Covid norms need to be followed in letter and spirit are themselves violating these norms and are spreading infection.
The administration also seems least bothered. This way Covid will spread like wildfire,” they added. |
