Snowfall aftermath: Many remote villages without power, officials missing | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, Jan 24: Apni Party, President - Kandi Belt - (Bani-Basohli), Choudhary Yasar today expressed serious concern over the unresponsive attitude of the administration in Kathua to the closure of Bani-Basohli road which has disconnected a huge population. In a statement issued here today, Yasar said that it was unfortunate to note that the administration has remained non responsive to the public issues after the heavy snowfall in the upper reaches of Kathua district. “The Bani-Basohli road is closed and there is no effort to restore the road which links many villages in the upper reaches where a poor population lives,” he said. He further said that the electricity in Dugan, Dugain, Lohai-Malhar and other adjoining areas are in darkness after the snapping of electricity following the snowfall. “We urge the administration to look into the public issues seriously so that they are not forced to face hardship,” he said. |
