Scores of youth are at the verge of overage, development on papers only: Sajad Ahmad
Social activist slams Govt over employment policy

Early Times Report

JAMMU, Jan 24: After the abrogation of Article 370 and 35 A in the year 2019, no development was seen in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, as there are hundreds and thousands of qualified youth that are still unemployed due to wrong decisions and policies of Jammu and Kashmir government, said social activist, Sajad Ahmad.
The forest department had issued a notification for various posts in 2004, 2010, and in 2013 but till date their demands were not fulfilled, as the concerned authorities of JKSSB has many times said that all the posts are pending in the General Administration Department (GAD).
Sajad Ahmad, social activist said that, all the districts of Jammu and Kashmir figures at the top of district index list and in reality that is all on the papers only, whereas nothing has been done on ground.
Social activist said that, those youth who filled the forms in 2004, are still waiting for employment, only God knows what will happen with others in the coming years, adding, after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35 A, unemployment has increased manifold.
“I fail to understand why the government wants to re-advertise the posts, instead of this useless step, they should accommodate those who have already filled the forms, scores of employed youth are getting over aged now”, Sajad observed.
There is no development whatsoever, poverty, unemployment; inflation has shaken the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, and the government speaks much on papers whereas nothing has been done practically.
When asked about the post of forests in the forest department, Sajad said that maximum youth are at the verge of over age; the present dispensation has failed to accommodate the youth.
“If we talk of Jannipor, Gujjarnagar, and other areas of Jammu and Kashmir, youth are disturbed due to unemployment, there are many issues that need to be addressed at the earliest, ‘’ said Sajad.
Since 2014, only 8-10 thousand jobs have been provided to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. Whatever the posts are pending in the GAD, they should immediately release the selection list without any delay, otherwise we will come to streets and will protest against the government, said Sajad Ahmad, social activist from Jammu.
