| Dogra Degree College organizes events on "National Girl Child Day" | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 24: The Government of India in 2008 declared January 24th of the year as "National Girl Child Day" with the objective to raise the consciousness of the society towards the girl child so that she can be valued and respect,
An online selfie competition with daughters/mothers was organized by the Dogra Degree College in which female students of different colleges participated. They posted their selfie with their daughter/mother showing their love for each other. The bond of mother and child is the strongest and we cherish it every day.
On the joyous occasion of National Girl Child Day, an online slogan writing competition was also organized in which number of students also participated. The objective of this competition will be new mnemonic/slogan for "Save the Girl Child". They made various captivating and informative slogans.
Overwhelming responses were received from participants wherein students posted selfies with their mother and wrote slogans promoting the cause of girl child. The event was organized under the guidance of Principal Bela Thakur and supervision of Balwant Singh, NSS Programme Officer. |
