Social media also understands social responsibility | | Vijay Garg | 1/25/2022 12:38:52 AM |
| International companies are taking serious steps to increase their revenue in social media. Twitter has appointed a new CEO. Other social media platforms, including Facebook, are making big bucks as far as transfers or appointments are concerned. The goal is to build a strong and popular company, yet the company is focused on revenue. It is not wrong to say that social media is also a victim of criticism. Criticism was once the most talked about in the United States but now there are questions on social media companies in other developing and poor countries including India. Fake news is a major issue in these controversies. In the context of India too, allegations of bias, non-removal of false news and misleading propaganda are being made on various social media platforms. Data leak case is also under discussion. There have also been allegations of spreading violence and provocative propaganda. In fact, social media seems to be at odds with its literal meaning. There should be no doubt that information is necessary and urgent but propaganda in the name of information is extremely dangerous. Falsehood should not be propagated in the name of freedom of expression. Governments are preparing to introduce stricter bills to regulate social media There is talk of a similar bill being introduced by the Government of India. Undoubtedly, the scientific age is the age of information revolution where the role of social media cannot be denied. Has a moral obligation to protect its platforms from violence, obscenity, false propaganda, racism, political bias and social evils by recognizing its responsibility towards humanity and keeping its platforms safe and sound instead of waiting for governments to crack down on them. Also the existence of social media. |
