Same has happened with a premier health institution of the state. Sources told Early Times that some of the 'blue-eyed' persons were appointed as Registrars at Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar. This is despite the fact that these 'favorites' were not eligible to be selected as Registrars with the guidelines being clear in this regard. "There is an SRO that the doctors confirmed by Public Service Commission (PSC) cannot apply for the posts of Registrars at the Medical colleges of Srinagar and Jammu. However, despite this fact some of the blue-eyed PSC confirmed doctors were appointed as Registrars at GMC Srinagar. As such the people at helm threw the norms to the wind so as to accommodate the blue-eyed ones," said sources.
