JAMMU, Mar 6: Despite being declared a 'dubious character' by CEO Prasarbharti, Director Regional News Unit DDK Srinagar according to sources is enjoying favours using his political influence.
According to document details, following complaints of all sorts against the Director Regional News Unit (RNU) of DDK Srinagar, Prasarbharti recommended transfer of the Director RNU Srinagar namely Bashir Malik out of Srinagar because of his 'dubious character' and long stay in Srinagar.
According to sources not only said recommendations of the CEO Prasarbharti were thrown into dustbin, but also on the basis of political patronage of a Congress Union Cabinet Minister, Bashir Malik is also presently enjoying the additional charge of Deputy Director news at DDK Srinagar.
Sources said that every time highly placed officials of Prasarbharti took notice of the complaints of employees posted in DDK Srinagar against Bashir Malik, Director RNU with the help of one State Congress union Cabinet Minister who in turn enjoys complete coverage of his activities from Delhi to Kashmir comes to the rescue of Malik and withdraws all sorts of complaints against him every time. It is not for the first time that CEO Prasarbharti recommended his transfer from Srinagar because of his dubious character but according to sources one highly placed official of Prasar Bhari namely A.A Rao who in 2012 inquired into complaints against Bashir Malik indicted him for swindling of money by Bashir Malik in the name of current affairs programmes by creating fake accounts, but because of his strong political influence and tactic of gaining attention of politicians by using DDK Srinagar as a tool, but instead of any action after that submission of the report, Malik was given additional of charge Deputy Director by authorities.
Sources also added that at a time when cases are pending against Malik and employees who are fed up of his administration are time and again filing complaints against him in head office Delhi and despite probe committees are ordered, however being aware of his retirement on 30/04/2014 he is using all his political contacts from Kashmir to Delhi and is spending huge chunk of money among different circles to save himself from termination before his retirement.
