As per the details available with "Early Times" Kishtwar police registered about 16 FIRs in Kishtwar and Padder violence related cases and arrested over 150 people from both the communities for their alleged involvement in the violence related cases, but many among them pledged innocence and accused Special Investigation Team constituted by the Jammu and Kashmir police to probe violence related cases of bias. Many people said that SIT investigation was politically motivated and alleged that many real culprits are still roaming free despite the fact that Kishtwar police has solid proofs of their involvement in the violence related cases. In such one case, the family members of one Adil Hussain Waza who was in jail since last nearly one year pledged his innocence and added that SIT deliberately booked him falsely. He said that while the main accused involved in fanning the violence get bail from the honorable court, his son fell victim to the Kishtwar police's fault at the time of producing challan in which Adil was shown as allegedly involved in murder case while in actual he (Adil) was booked by the police for normal violence related case that too falsely. The shopkeepers whose business establishments were burnt down by the unruly mob on Kishtwar violence day alleged that administration paid them nominal compensation while the actual losses are very high. They demanded compensation at par with the actual loss suffered by them. Meanwhile, the family members of all the three deceased who lost their lives in Kishtwar violence remembered them on their first anniversary and demanded justice for their loved ones by arresting the real culprits involved behind the killings of their loved ones. They also showed their anger over failure of police in arresting the culprits involved in murdering their family members. The family members of deceased Arvind Raj Baghat held a memorable service at his residence in which large number of people from Schedule caste category from different parts of the district participated and paid homage to the departed soul. Des Raj Baghat, father of the deceased Arvind vowed to continue his fight to bring the culprits involved in killing of his son to book. He said that it is painful for him and his family members that the people involved behind killing of his son are roaming free. It is pertinent to mention that courts in Kishtwar has issued warrants U/S 512 Cr.Pc against more than 150 persons for their alleged involvement in Kishtwar violence related cases, but to the utter surprise many among them are roaming free, attending Government offices as well as public functions well to the knowledge of various security agencies working in Kishtwar District. All the other accused arrested by the Kishtwar police in violence related case are bailed out, except one person Adil Hussain Waza who is in jail only due to technical error in challan produce by the police in Kishtwar court. He also got clean chit from the FSL committee as the licensed weapon in possession of his family has never been discharged. |
