Avinash Azad JAMMU, Sept 3: To adjust a blue eyed candidate for temporary appointment of teacher on academic arrangement in a Middle School, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Jammu has allegedly dropped meritorious candidates. Moreover, order of appointment was issued a week before the creation of vacancy. According to sources, for the posts of temporary teacher at Government Middle School Bhadrore, which falls under Education Zone Marh, four candidates applied a few days before, but due to known reasons, CEO, Jammu, Tarseem Lal dropped two meritorious candidates while issuing the order. "There were four candidates in fray for the post. Two of them were MA, M.Ed and two others possessed MA, B.Ed degrees", sources told early Times, adding that one of the candidate was gold-medalist in M.Ed, but education authorities didn't paid attention towards the merit. According to para 8 of procedure/ terms and conditions for temporary arrangement of Cabinet decision number 106/08/2014 dated August 11, 2014, the preference is to be given to the candidates having higher qualification and having passed M.Ed, B.Ed. "The CEO before the commencement of the academic session will invite the applications from the eligible candidates from concerned village. Where the post is available and if the eligible candidate is not available from said village, then the eligible candidate can be taken from concerned panchayat and if the candidate is not available in the panchayat, the eligible candidate can be taken from the concerned zone having required qualification for the post. And preference will be given to the candidate having higher qualification and having passed M.Ed., B.Ed", the Cabinet decision reads. However, in case of appointment of temporary teacher at Government Middle School Bhadrore, procedures were not followed. Chief Education Officer Jammu, Tarseem Lal was not available for comment, even after repeated attempts. |
