Militants killed NC legislator's PSO in Kulgam | Panch out of danger | | Saahil Suhail

Kulgam, Jan 17: Panic gripped in Redwani area of Kulgam district on Sunday where militants killed PSO of National Conference legislator from Homeshalibugh Assembly segment and injured a village representative (Panch). Reports said that militants fired upon a motorbike in the area and killed the security guard of Abdul Majeed Bhat (Larmi) - elect National Conference MLA from Homeshalibugh Assembly segment. Deceased identified as Constable Zahoor Ahmad -390 /AP 11 (security) was attached as driver with MLA Homeshalibugh, Abdul Majid Bhat (Larim) since last eight years. Police said that Zahoor Ahmad is the son of National Conference Sarpanch Ghulam Rasool Dar and was survived by wife, two minor children, an unmarried sister and old aged father. Panch, Zahoor Ahmad Illahie, who was driving the motorbike, sustained injuries in the militant attack, however his condition is stable now in SMHS Hospital Srinagar while as police constable died on spot. "I don't know who is behind the attack. The deceased sought lift from my son who was riding his scooter and suddenly somebody fired upon them. Our neighbor died while my son got injured," Sara Bano, the mother of injured Panch from Havoora Mishpora told a local news gathering agency. Soon after the militant attack, security forces cordoned off the areas and lunched a man hunt for nabbing the militants. SP Kulgam Mumtaz Ahmed told Early Times that they have taken up the investigation. "It will be premature to say anything at this point of time. We have taken up the investigation and everything will be clear after few days," he told media. |
