Jammu, Jan 17: A core group has been constituted on the court direction for the help of the victims of the Pak border firing. The core group was formed in compliance to the directions of acting Chief Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir and Patron in Chief of Committee Core Groups with regard to the victims of firing on LoC in terms of Section 12(e) of the J&K SLSA Act 1997 to ensure them immediate help of government and non-government agencies. The group is formed for bringing immediate relief to the victims, to supervise the distribution of relief material to victims , to supervise the construction of temporary shelters for transporting them to safer places , to supervise the reunion of their families, to supervise the health and care for their sanitation and prevention of spreading of epidemic amongst inhabitants of these areas, to supervise the need of women and children, to ensure availability of food , medicines and drinking water to them, to supervise the construction of damaged dwelling houses and to supervise the restoration of cattle and chattel. Principal Sessions Judge, Kathua, Vinod Chatterji Koul, who is also Chairman of District Legal Service Authority, constituted the core group of Dinesh Gupta, District Mobile Magistrate (T), Kathua, Assistant Commissioner ( R) Kathua, SDM, Hiranagar, CMO, Kathua, Tehsildar, Hiranagar, and Mahreen. He directed that the core group shall work under his supervision and report progress. In addition to the core group, District Mobile Magistrate (T), Kathua, and retainer lawyers shall organize Legal Awareness Programmers in the relief camps on the rights of the victims. A temporary Legal core and support centre is also established at Government Higher Secondary School, Hiranagar, for providing assistance and help to the needy victims. In the said legal core and support centre, retainer lawyers and PLVs shall provide required assistance to the victims. (JNF) |
