| Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 17 : Separatist leader Yaseen Malik while justifying his yesterday's protest before a national TV channel correspondent related the citizen rights issue of west Pakistani refugees with the state subject provision introduced by Maharaja Hari Singh in order to protect the ecology of the state due to population imbalance but on the other hand he never spoke a single over the constant deteriorating environmental conditions of state, observed by the non government organization namely People's Action & Public Accountability (PAPA).Recent worst valley based exposure related to excess of deforestation, establishment of brick kilns and illegal constructions on wild life department lands and along water bodies was taken seriously by the state High Court whereas both separatists and so-called main stream politicians were on a constant mute mode since long, it added. Linking the human issue of state's Samba & Kathua districts resident west Pakistani refugees with ecological degradation of state certainly reflects the selfish agenda of leaders like Yaseen Malik, PAPA further observed. Thousands kanals of forest land is being encroached illegally in connivance of state politicians, large scale agriculture land is being converted into residential and other constructions but not a single voice was ever noted from the state particularly the valley and it is a height of selfishness on the part of both separatists and so-called main stream politicians of the state, PAPA alleged.Today's unfortunate media exposure related to the slackness rather a criminal conspiracy of outgoing state government that failed to utilize an amount of Rs. 69.17 crore released by the Union Ministry of drinking water and sanitation during current financial year which certainly shows the belongingness of our corrupt political & bureaucratic class towards state, PAPA expressed. 5% of such released amount used to be given for information, education and communication (IEC) programs by the Union Ministry and it was the outgoing corrupt state government that had given this task to a Jharkhand based ngo against vested interests, PAPA alleged. Similarly, other funds allotted for Community, Capacity Development unit (CCDU) programs were swindled throughout, it further alleged. |
