Jammu, Jan17 : MLA Jammu East Constituency today announced that a three day Shivratri Mela would be organized from February 15 at the historical pilgrimage site of Peerkhoo. According to press release, the announcement came in the wake of efforts initiated by the newly elected MLA of the Jammu East constituency, Rajesh Gupta for providing impetus to tourism activity in the region. He was instrumental in convincing the State tourism department about the potential and vitality of this religious destination which has been neglected since long. During his visit to Peerkhoo today, Rajesh assured that this prolific event will prove fruitful for almost all the people related with tourism sector. He said that the Mela is just the beginning as many other innovative projects are in the offing to make Jammu East a better place to live. He said that this Mela in collaboration with tourism department will not only promote tourism and business but shall also go a long way in giving fillip to the edifice in the vicinity. Director R K Verma and Mahant of Peerkhoo Shrine Ravi Nath ji also spoke on the occasion. Prominent personalities including Sarvam Sarasvati, Ramesh, Ashwani, Dalip, Sunil, Rajesh, Gulshan, Dhansw-aroop, Sapolia, Vijay, Rajinder, Kuldeep, Manav, Amit, Gopal, Hari Om, Chaman Lal, Rajkumar, Ajesh, Raju Khajuria and Opinder also accompanied Rajesh Gupta during his visit to Peerkhoo. |
