DSS holds meeting, highlights demands | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 21: Working committee of Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) today held meeting and highlights demands here at Dogra Hall, Jammu. Addressing media persons, committee president Gulchain Singh Charak raised the issue of West Pakistan refugees and said that the government should be decided once for all on humanitarian grounds as these people of India are not being given the due justice in their own country. He further condemned such elements who are not only opposing their final settlement but also using derogatory language against these citizens of India. Meanwhile, he also raised the issue of border migrants and flood affected people of Jammu and Kashmir and also expressed a deep concern about the plight of border people who are suffering a lot due to the unprecedented shelling from across the border causing huge loss to their lives and property. They further demanded road from Purmandal Morh to Purmandal Shrine and also expressed concern over the precarious condition of this prestigious Duggar Heritage especially the Historical Mubarak Mandi Complex. They further demanding from government to start full-fledged Duggar Channel. "since the official language of our state is Urdu and all the records pertaining to Revenue and Police etc. are in Urdu language, most of the people of this region are not able to read or write the same because in whole of this region", they said and added that both the languages i.e. Urdu and Hindi be declared as official languages of the State. "Another burning problem being faced by the people of the state in general and farmer fraternity in particular is because of the dilapidated condition of Revenue Records which needs to be computerized to save the innocent people from further exploitation as has been done in the adjoining states", the concluded. |
