Guv to dismiss corrupt officials before Govt formation | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 21: The Governor has decided to dismiss the corrupt officials before the formation of the new government. The list has been prepared and it will be placed before the Governor very shortly. The sources said Governor will give his consent on the issuance of the list. The list of the corrupt officials have been prepared. Many officials are from the revenue and police department who had colluded with the land mafia. The Governor is very strict on the land mafia and has reportedly decided to set an example, which will come as handy for the new political government. "Governor in the past has expressed serious concern over the illegal construction. It's the land mafia which is involved and Governor now in-charge of the state will not let all those people involved in it go scot free," said a senior official. The land mafia has been most active in the Omar Abdullah headed government. Close aides of the CM, his friends and ministers were allegedly involved in this land mafia. They were helped by the police officials also who helped them in allegedly grabbing land by asserting their power. "Many benami transactions have taken place. The government was in knowledge of it but deliberately kept a blind eye. But now things have changed and they will be charge sheeted," said the official. In the state, only low level official have been charge sheeted by the vigilance organisation. The sources said it has given an impression that officials with power and access to ministers will go unscathed. "The Governor wants to change this impression and wants to act so that it not only acts as deterrent for others but also puts him in the league of the Jagmohan, who in his first tenure as the Governor sacked many officials, including chief engineers," said the official. |
