Director Family Welfare changes his DOB from 1955 to 1957 Extends his service without anyone taking note 1/21/2015 11:20:11 PM Akshay Azad Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 21: In yet another instance of "corrupt officials" enjoying political patronage during ousted Omar Abdullah regime, Incharge Director Family Welfare Jammu, managed to change his date of birth and his seniority without anybody taking note of it. According to the tentative seniority list of Assistant Surgeons of Health department issued under government order number 556-HME of 2011, dated 17/10/2011, the incumbent Incharge Director Family Welfare, Dr Baldev Raj Sharma stood at serial number 23 and his Date of Birth (DOB) was shown as 15-12-1955. Interestingly, in another seniority list of Medical Officers of Health and Family Welfare, issued under government order number 295, dated 11/5/2014, Dr Sharma stood at number 1, and his Date of Birth (DOB) was shown as 17/3/1957, a difference of more than one year. Dr Sharma by tampering with his Date of Birth ensured that he remains in service for two more years and his retirement is deferred. Sources alleged that Dr Sharma throughout his career enjoyed political patronage and reached to the top post only due to his political clout. Moreover, sources said that Dr Sharma had qualified Matriculation examination from a school in Bihar and had qualified 12th standard from Srinagar. "Dr Sharma managed to change his date of birth in the school leaving certificate and the Department of Health and Family Welfare of Jammu and Kashmir," sources alleged. They said that Dr Sharma was Block Medical Officer RS Pura and was later appointed as Chief Medical Officer Jammu, surpassing several other officers senior to him, and at present he is Director Health and Family Welfare. Moreover, in the latest promotion list of Medical Officers, who were promoted to the post of Chief Medical Officers, according to government order number 565-HME of 2014, dated 14/10/2014, Baldev Raj Sharma was not even confirmed as Chief Medical Officer.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
