JKSSB publishes ALC category posts for non- qualifying districts | Chairperson shifts onus on Govt departments | | Mohit Puria Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 20: Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has again come under scanner for publishing reserved posts under Actual Line of Control (ALC) category for those districts which do not qualify for this category. As per the advertisement, Departments seek ALC candidates from these districts where ALC category certificates cannot be issued. For example, Udhampur district of J&K is bounded by Rajouri in the west, Jammu in the south-west, Doda in the east and Kathua in the south-east. It also shares boundary with Anantnag in the North but it doesn't share its boundary with Pakistan and China as J&K shares its boundary with these two neighboring countries. Topographical ignorance on the part of departments is really a matter of concern and it needs to be rectified so that exploitation of youth can be stopped. Some days ago, JKSSB issued a recruitment notification under Advertisement No. 03 of 2014, Dated 30/12/2014 for the recruitment against various vacancies under state, divisions and districts in which online applications have been invited. In the first week of January, JKSSB advertised 665 posts in various newspapers of state, out of which most of the posts are kept for reserved categories candidates falling under SC/ST/OBC/RBA/ALC/OSC. In Kashmir division, it has published 16 positions under ALC category in Anantnag, 16 posts for Budgam district, 5 posts for Ganderbal district, 6 posts for Kulgam district, 8 posts for Pulwama district, 4 posts for Shopian district and 13 for Srinagar district. Similarly, it has reserved various posts under ALC category in various districts of Jammu division, JKSSB has published 2 posts for Doda district, 9 posts for Kishtwar district, 13 posts for Ramban district, and posts for Reasi district. Most of posts referred to JKSSB to districts of Kashmir division by Education department, Forest department, Finance department and Rural Dev. department. While talking to Early Times, Chariman JKSSB, Shagufta Parveen said that the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board is recruitment agency and it has nothing to do with it as it publishes vacancies of various government departments referred to it. Chairman further said that some problems have been witnessed in the notification under Advertisement No. 03 of 2014 and same has been taken up with government. People in general are lambasting the deliberate attempt to keep unemployed youth in dark. On the other hand, Prominent Lawyers, aspirants are astonished that they are being taken for ride by keeping the aspirants in dark. There is anguish and resentment among youth of the state and the youth is feeling cheated on side of recruitment agencies and Govt departments. A lawyer, Vikrant Sharma said that this sort of approach of JKSSB is unfortunate and totally unacceptable in which unemployed youth are being deceived. |
