Samba, Jan 20 : District Information Centre, Samba today organized a debate contest on the topic Say No to Drugs in the Border Village Abtal at Jeevan Jyoti Public School in district Samba.
Sarpanch Tejinder Singh was the chief guest on the occasion. About five students took part in the Competition. Ghar Singh student of 8th class was adjudged as best speaker, while shwali Dogra of 7th class and Sonali kumari of 8th got 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
Other participant who were also awarded consolation prizes included namely Kavita choudhary ,and Payal kumari. Certificates and prizes were given to winning students by the Information department.
It was informed that that main aim of organizing this competition is to aware the students about the ill effects of drugs as well as to motivate them to participate in such competitions.
Chief guest appreciated Information department for organising such programmes in schools for the welfare of the student community.
Among others Principal, Joginder Paul, Panch Pamjeet Kour, vice Principal Asha Kumari , Prominent citizens Seva Singh, Gian Chand, Satpal, Seva Ram of the Village besides, Balbir Singh culture Asst., Locals and all staff members /students were present on the occasion. |
