NABARD launches VDP in district Samba

Samba, Jan 21: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) on Wednesday launched a Village Development Plan (VDP) at Village Shahzadpur in Gho Brhamana panchayat of district Samba.
According to press release, the VDP was launched by Shanker A Pande, CGM, NABARD in presence of hundreds of villagers from the area. The District Development Manager of NABARD, Surinder Singh in his welcome address gave a detailed brief of the plan envisaged under the VDP. He apprised that this VDP aims at ensuring holistic and integrated development of the village.
Addressing the gathering, CGM of NABARD Shanker A Pande said that the objective of this VDP is to ensure socio-economic and livelihood advancement with enhanced credit support and financial inclusion of all families in the village. He emphasized on meaningful convergence of all government sponsored and NABARD supported schemes for economic development, infrastructure development and other aspects of human development like, education, health, drinking water supply and other financial services. The entire project will be implemented by Priyadarshani Indira Mahila Block Society (NGO) in close coordination with Village Development Committee.
While, Rajneesh Gupta, SDM, Vijaypur congratulated NABARD and the Village Development Committee on the occasion of launching of VDP and stressed that success in implementation of any project depends crucially on the interest shown by the village community. The artists from New Sargam Cultural Club performed a nukkad natak on Financial Literacy appealing the public to utilise banking services. Hans Raj Hans, LDM, Dr. K S Sambyal, Chief Agriculture Officer, Dr. D B Singh, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr. Ajit Sharma, Chief Horticulture Officer, V K Bhushan, Project Director, ATMA, Ashok Gupta, Deputy Project Director, ATMA, Dr. Rakesh Sharma, KVK, Rajesh Sharma, Director RSETI, Vikrant Sharma, District Floriculture Officer, K L Sharma, Area Manager Grammen Bank, representatives from banks and other line departments and panchayat members were also present on the occasion and guided the participants.
