BCE Udhampur organises seminar on “Beti Bachao” 1/21/2015 11:01:53 PM Early Times Report Udhampur Jan 21: Bhartiya College of Education (BCE)Udhampur today organised a seminar on the topic “BETI BACHAO” The topic discussed was about female foeticide “Save Daughter”. The sole motto of the programme was to save the girl child. Choudhary Lal Singh, MLA Basholi, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Advocates Sanjit Kumar, Swantantra Dev Kotwal and members of the civil society were also present on the occasion. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the traditional Lamp by the Chief Guest and the dignitaries. Principal of the college formally welcomes the honourable guests along with the management of the college and also throws light on the important topic. About seven student speakers namely Babli, Manisha, Sonia, Bhavna, Sonia Rathore, Isha and Ankit deliberated threadbare on the topic in the seminar. Advocate Swatantra Dev Kotwal in his address to the audience spoke about the present day worry of parents of a girl child about her safety. He asked the students to spread the message of ‘Beti Bachao’ in their respective areas. While speaking on the occasion Chief Guest asked the students not to indulge in unlawful activities and not to bear injustice. He also laid stress on the empowerment of girls. He lauded the efforts of the college for organizing such programme which is of immense importance for the society as the present day society is reeling under the gender imbalance.
