JYF protests against acting VC for reinstating tainted Professor

Jammu, Jan 21: Jammu Youth Forum (JYF) on Wednesday protest against the decision of acting Vice Chancellor Professor RD Sharma has reinstated Dr Darshana Sharma as Programme Coordinator for MEd at DDE, who has removed from the same post for her alleged involvement in copying during M Ed test, 2013.
Addressing the protesters, Provincial President Vikram Kumar said that in 2013 a student was caught copying in DDE along with a book and suspended for two years. A contractual lecturer Dr. Narseen and Professor Darshana Sharma were on duty and in front of duo, the accused was copying, then programme coordinator M. Ed DDE was removed from the post by JU administration, but Prof RD Sharma few days after he took over as acting VC reinstated the tainted Professor even as services of contractual Lecturer Dr Nasreen whose name figured in the same case were terminated.
He further said that earlier another case, Dr Darshana would be conducting Personal Contact Programme (PCP) M.Ed. session 2014-15, commencing from 3 Dec, 2014 and 26 Dec. "The programme in-charge of first group of MEd students (1-500), Dr Darshana Sharma has engaged an MPhil Scholar in Mathematics to teach Statistics the MEd Students during recently held personal contact programme (PCP). He stated that to adjust a favorite the programme in-charge not only violated the guidelines, but also cheated the students by employing scholar of another course for statistics.
He informed that the scholar, who taught the MEd students had done MEd. "A person possessing Med degree is not eligible to teach MEd students. UGC has clearly mentioned NET/PhD as eligibility for same course", the Kumar added.
They urged Chancellor of Varsity to initiate an inquiry of whole episode and taken a strict action against the culprits.
Among those who were presented in the protest included Ajit Kumar, Opinder Sharma, Amit Kumar, Rajinder, Ajay Kumar, Krishna Kumar and others.
