JAMMU, Feb 11: The Enforcement Staff of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) conducted an anti-Encroachment drive in different areas of the city. Led by Kapil Sharma, Joint Commissioner (Adm.) along with the Chief Enforcement Officer, Satish Khajuria under the directions of Municipal Commissioner, Kiran Wattal removed kiosks and encroachment from the public lanes and roads from Indira Chowk, Akhnoor Road and Gangyal areas. The team demolished two permanent structures raised upon footpath at Indira Chowk, Jammu while it demolished the gate and walls erected by encroaching upon lane at Gangyal. The team also demolished five temporary structures erected upon pavements at Akhnoor Road, Besides this, the team seized 5 trucks load of material which include sizable number of Reharies operating without license and other goods / articles kept upon footpaths /pavements hampering the free flow of vehicular traffic and causing hindrance to the pedestrians also. The drive has been conducted with the active co-operation of police force from the Police Stations Bus Stand, Domana, Satwari and from District Police Lines Jammu. |
