CMO threatens, humiliates ET reporter

Jammu, Feb 11: Causality Medical Officer of Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu today threatened the Early Times reporter and humiliated him when this reporter suggested to him that he should wear a whit apron so that patients are able to recognize that he is a doctor.
The CMO, who was donning a colorful dress, was offended when this reporter told him that white apron helps patients to identify the right person.
Pertinently, a few days back, the same CMO was reportedly found having coffee with MLA to seek his blessings for more than an hour. The story was carried by Early Times newspaper as 'CMO prefers coffee over patients', 'Goes missing amid jr docs strike' in Early Times on February 7, 2015.
This journo visited GMC hospital's emergency ward once again on Wednesday, there were junior doctors, who were found doing their job without donning the uniform, which is necessary for doctors during duty hours.
When, the issue taken with on duty CMO DrSanjeevParhiar, who was also not in uniform, he was so infuriated that he threatened this reporter of dire consequences.
He asked the journo, "Aapvohi ho najisne us din call kithiaur story publish ki" (you are the same person who called me on February 6 and published the story) and lost his temper as saying 'media person ho to kuchbhikaroge' who sends you here".
Later, Medical Superintendent of GMC, Dr. Robinder Rattan Pal heard complete recording of the incident, he assured the action would be taken against the doctor.
Asked why the doctors don't wear an apron during duty hours he replied the uniform is mandatory for all doctors, whether they are PG or intern. "If they doctors are not following the rules the action will take in this regard," the superintendent said.
Seeking anonymity, a senior doctor at GMC said are they doctors or models? Who perform their duty donning colourfulclothes. "During duty hours, some doctors remain busy with their mobile gadgets. It seems the Principal of GMC hospital is promoting this culture and has failed to take action against them who are violating the rules of GMC hospital.
