JAMMU, Feb 11: The forty seventh Samarpan Divas of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhayay was observed by the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) at its headquarters with the reverence and dedication. The death anniversary of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhayay is observed as 'Samarpan Divas' by BJP when all its workers rededicate themselves to the propogation and achievement of the values and goals of the party. Pt. Upadhayay's 'Akatammanvwad', integral humanism, forms the basic tenet of the BJP's ideology, which envisages the development of, spiritualism, intellect, mind and body of an individual. The function was presided over by State President & MP Jugal Kishore Sharma and MP Rajya Sabha Shamsher Singh Manhas. Jugal Kishore Sharma, while addressing the workers at the function, said that BJP workers on this day reiterate their resolve to continue struggle for emancipation of mankind from narrow-mindedness, parochialism, biases and prejudices. The party has come a long way from its earlier avatar of Jana Sangh when it was confined to some urban areas of North India. The ideology and spirit of Pt. Upadhayay has ultimately blossomed now and BJP has come to dominate almost all the states of India. Shamsher Singh Manhas, in his address, while stressing the importance of the ideology for any political party, said that karma is the fountain head of achievement of all the human society. Pt. Upadhaya in his entire life worked relentlessly and without any expectation of personal gain or reward and we must follow his example in serving the society. |
