Hamid hails victory of Fayaz, Laway in RS polls 2/11/2015 11:33:25 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 11: Hailing the victory of Mir Mohammad Fayaz and Nazir Ahmad Laway as Members of Parliament (MPs) of Rajya Sabha, People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader Choudhary Hamid said that this is empowerment of youth. The two elected MPs of PDP, he said would be representing the aspirations of people of Jammu and Kashmir State in the Parliament and represent them in true sense. The PDP leader said that party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and President Mehbooba Mufti have sent right and credible candidates to Rajya Sabha and also empowered youth. He added that both Fayaz and Laway had contested last assembly elections but lost by a thin margin but their elections to RS will enable them to work for the welfare of people in true sense. Mir Mohammad Fayaz had polled 56 votes for first seat of Rajya Sabha against Notification No. 1 and won by a margin of 27 votes against his rival candidate. However on Notification No. 3 PDP's Nazir Ahmad Laway got 29 and made it to the Rajya Sabha.
