NSF protests against authorities of JU, demands removal of acting VC | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 11: The activists of National Secular Forum (NSF) held strong protest demonstration against the Jammu University (JU) administration for playing with the future of students, and demanded removal of Acting Vice Chancellor Prof R D Sharma. The protesters urged the Chancellor, Governor NN Vohra, to intervene into the matter and ensure action against the guilty people who were playing with the future of the students at their whims and fancies. The protesters were led by Amit Sanotra, District President alleged that the evaluation of the answer scripts of M.A Dogri (Semester-II) in Course no. 454 of Directorate of Distance Education was done in a casual manner owing to which the result declared was full of errors as nearly 90 percent students were declared fail. He said that disclosures about the state of affairs and gross violation of norms in the evaluation process. "The Acting Vice Chancellor was even cautioned against declaration of result without rectifications but he went ahead and declared the same. Later, on seeing resentment they quietly withdrew and deferred the result," he alleged. The protesting NSF activists raised slogans against the Acting Vice Chancellor and his style of functioning wherein he was accommodating the mistakes of all his favourites irrespective of their credentials. They demanded impartial probe into the evaluation debacle which led to faulty result and its subsequent withdrawal. |
