NSPU alleges spurt in swine flu cases, Govt in deep slumber | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 24: National Panthers Student Union (NPSU) said that with swine flu spreading fast in all the three regions of the state but the government was a deep slumber and had failed to take effective steps to check the spread of this deadly disease. Speaking on the occasion, NPSU President Thakur Virender Singh lambasted the deficiency of Tami-flu and other drugs in the various government hospitals of the state besides non provision of proper labs and diagnostic centers for detection of the dangerous disease. He flayed in particular the black-marketing of H1N1 influenza vaccine and other drugs which were not available in the market and were being sold in black on exorbitant rates. He further called upon the Governor to personally intervene so as to resume availability of vaccine as well as other drugs in various hospitals of the state in view of gravity of the matter. He called for declaring holidays in schools and colleges till the time the deadly influenza dies down. In the meantime NPSU has submitted a memorandum to NN Vohra, the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir in this regard. |
