Judicial employees facing hardships courtesy non implementation of Shetty Commission | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Feb 23 : Class 3rd and 4th class Judicial employees working in different courts of State are facing great hardship due to non implementation of Shetty commission for which they are waiting from last more than two years The Supreme Court has ordered the state governments to implement the recommendations of the Shetty Commission for staff members working in the subordinate courts but state government fail to implement it despite lapse of two years and is unconcerned about Judicial employees According to JEWA Judicial employees welfare association they have already filed writ petition in J&K high court also for direction from court in this regard but till date nothing has been done in a judgment delivered the Supreme Court had ordered the states and the union territories to implement the Shetty Commission recommendations with effect from April 1,2003. Supreme court has also directed states to decide over the matter within three months and the Registrar Generals of the high courts had been directed to hold discussions with the state governments and the union territories with regard to the implementation of the Shetty Commission recommendations. Girdhari lal a judicial employees added that the non challant attitude of the law department in state government has created a wedge between the High Court and the government resulting in the suffering of the staff and the general public. Despite case perused by high court state government is not obeying supreme courts recommendations .Judicial employees has appealed new Chief justice to kindly intervene in the matter so that poor employees getting very meager amount as salary could get relief . As per the recommendations of the commission superintendent grade-1 post in the subordinate courts would now be re-designated as chief administrative officer. Its pay scale would be revised to Rs 7880-11660 from Rs 7220 earlier. The post of superintendent grade-II in the courts of additional district and sessions judge and civil judge senior division would be re-designated as Sheritedar and its pay scale revised to Rs 7000-10980 from Rs 6400-10640. The pay scale of reader grade-I in the court of district and sessions judge and additional district and sessions judge would be revised to Rs 7000-10980 from Rs 6400-10640. In case of reader grade-II in the court of civil judge senior division pay scales would be revised to Rs 6400-10640 from Rs 5800 -7200. In case of stenotypists pay scales would be revised to Rs 4200-6200 from Rs 3000-5200. All other categories of subordinate employees in the courts would get one extra increment. |
