3-day Ram Kund Mandir fair concludes | | | ET Report
JAMMU, Mar 19: Thousands of devotees from Rajouri, Poonch and Jammu area thronged Ram Kund Mandir during three day fair (Mela) which concluded here today. This fair is organized every year on 'Chetar Choudas' and a large number of devotees participate in it with great religious fervor and enthusiasm. The district and local sub-divisional level administration had made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of this historic Mela. Management Committee of the temple led by its chairman Om Parkash Sharma orgaised the affair, under the overall supervision of head priest of the temple. The devotees had holy bath in the Ram `Kund' (pool of water) and offered special prayers during this three day festival. It is said that nearly 20,000 devotees visited the shrine during three days. Many 'Sadhus' from various parts of the state also thronged the temple. A traditional 'Charri Yatra' is taken out from Hanuman temple, Mendhar to the Ram Kund Mandir on first day to declare open the Mela. A large number of devotees participated in this Yatra. |
