Questions their inclusion in proposed K-Dialogue | Congress MLA calls separatists 'Murderers' | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 19: The Congress has beaten the 'nationalist' BJP in taking on the separatists by terming the separatists as 'murderers' of innocent people. "The murderers (separatists), stone pelters and those propagating secessionism can never be representative and can never be party to any dialogue. The MLAs are the real representatives," said Cong MLA Usman Majid in the Assembly. Majid even slammed the independent legislator Engineer Abdul Rashid who has been for the last seven-year advocating view point of the separatists in the Assembly unchecked. Usman not only countered Engineer, but also turned tables on him. BJP even while in Opposition didn't dare to term the separatists as 'murderers'. The party kept silent when the CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed 'thanked' Pakistan and separatists for conduct of peaceful elections in J&K and even when the separatists Masarat Alam was released. The State unit of the party was silent and confused on taking the stand until the stand was taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Parliament. The PDP has clear agenda of the securing and strengthening its vote in the valley. The BJP is however, confused and doesn't have the vision and thought of taking the party ahead. The major decisions in the government are taken by the Cabinet and here the PDP has more cabinet ministers than the BJP. The cabinet can even recommend de-notifying disturbed areas by the majority vote and this if it happens, it could be detrimental to the interest of the BJP. "Congress even while in government didn't allow the Omar Abdullah to go ahead on its demand for revocation of the AFSPA. It continuously took up the cause of the Jammu region and now in opposition it is taking on even the separatists, despite the fact that party has grown in strength in Kashmir. The Congress is thinking of beating the BJP and it has shown how to do it," said a senior Congress leader, wishing not to be named. |
