Opposition walks out against cancelation of re-employment order | BJP hoodwinking people over Article 370: Omar | | Asif Iqbal Naik

Jammu, Mar 19: The opposition National Conference and Congress today hit out at People's Democratic Party (PDP) and Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) coalition government over their decision of revoking of all re-employments, beside appointments made in Public Sector Under takings and causal appointments and termed the decision as anti youth. As soon as the proceeding of Legislative Assembly began, Opposition legislators stood up and raised the issue and also staged Walkout from the Assembly. While thanking the Governor for his address to the joint session of the legislature, Former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah said that the document lacks clarity on several key issues affecting the State and its people.Taking on PDP and BJP, Omar said that the coalition government has not been able to secure the special relief package of Rs 44,000 crore till date. He said the Government is also silent on several important issues like AFSPA, return of youth from across the border and their rehabilitation and issue of settlement of West Pakistani refugees on which Omar said Government should come out with a clear statement. "I am surprised that pre-poll, you (PDP) had all hate for the BJP and made so many statements against them in public but later joined hands with them for power." Omar said while attacking the PDP for stitching up an alliance with the BJP. He also said that the BJP never wanted to abrogate Article 370 from J&K, and alleged that they only played the card for vote bank on Article 370. Omar also stepped up heat on the government for the immediate withdrawal of an official order on the state flag issue and said that the government might have done it on order from RSS Nagpur headquarters' call. "PDP President Mehbooba Mufti had claimed that over 10,000 political prisoners are lodged in jails by his government and now their party is the ruling party, why aren't they releasing them?" said Omar. He also attacked the PDP for being unjust in allotting ministers to the BJP members. "People of Jammu are questioning BJP--- what they get" said Omar while talking jibe at BJP over allotment of low profile portfolio's to BJP ministers. He said that he feel happy that PDP-BJP formed the alliance, added that it will strengthen the NC in future as the alliance is made against the will of the people. Sat Sharma, Aga Syed Rahullah, R. S Pathania, GM Saroori, Mohammad Yusuf Bhat, Vikar Rasool Wani, Dr. Gagan Bhagat,Asgar Karbalai, Raja Manzoor Ahmed, Jeevan Lal, Ashfaq Jabbar, Bashir Ahmed Dar, Shah Mohammad Tantray, Usman Majid, Kuldeep Kumar, Ch. Kamaljeet, Neelam Kumar Langeh, Rajiv Jasrotia & Gulzar Ahmed Wani also speaks on Governor address. The BJP and PDP MLAs speaks in favour while the other speaks against Governor's address. The debate on the Governor's address shall continue tomorrow also. |
