Jammu, Mar 19 : Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Jammu & Kashmir Region (Gangyal) organized an awareness programme at Gangyal Industries Association, Jammu to disseminate the information about the ESI Scheme and latest changes being brought therein. Dr V P Mathur, State Medical Commissioner, ESIC Jammu presided over the seminar in which large number stake holders were present. Regional Director, ESIC, Arvind Kumar, welcomed the participants and gave an overview of the ESI Scheme in Jammu & Kashmir. He stated that the services are being provided through four ESI Dispensaries in Srinagar and five in Jammu besides the empanelled doctors in Udhampur, Katra, Samba and Vijaypur. He also stated that the lone ESIC Model Hospital, Jammu is meant to cater to the covered employees in the whole of Jammu and Kashmir including referral treatments for super specialty cases. He informed that Labour Secretary to Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir had also called a meeting in the day earlier to discuss certain changes being effected in the operation of ESI Scheme. In his address Dr Om Prakash, Addl SMC, ESIC, RO Jammu, stated that all out efforts have been made to facilitate timely referrals of beneficiaries needing super specialty treatment and reimbursement of the expenditure incurred by the covered employees on their own. He stated that better premises for ESI Dispensaries Digian in Jammu and Rengreth in Srinagar are being readied. |
