Jammu, Mar 19 : A Bishnah based lawyer was booked for allegedly murdering a farmer over a tiff in the court premises, here on Thursday.
"The accused has been identified as Sampurn Singh Manhas, police sources said.
Police sources said, "The police convert the case of attempt to murder into murder after the critically injured namely Dharam Paul s/o Dhuni Chand of Chack Sahab Sukha Singh, Bishnah succumbed to injuries."
Sharing details sources said, "The incident took place few days ago in the premises of Munsiff Court Complex Bishnah where the victim had come to court to attend the hearing and he got a tiff with the lawyer of his brother namely Lal Chand."
"The victim and his brother had property dispute and the same was reached at court, police sources said and added, "the heated verbal brawl turned into ugly turn when the lawyer assaulted Dharam Paul who sustained injuries."
Police sources said, "The injured was later rushed to the district hospital for treatment where he succumbed to injuries." Meanwhile, when contacted, a senior police officer briefly said that the matter is being looked into it is pre mature to comment on. |
