Blue, Yellow win ties in JKCA trial matches

JAMMU, Mar 19 : Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) Blues and JKCA Yellow won their respective matches in the trials games being conducted by the Association at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here to pick up the team for upcoming North Zone Twenty20 Tournament slated to be held from March 24.
In first match of the day, Parvez Rasool led JKCA Yellow registered a convincing 26 runs win against JKCA Green.
Earlier, batting first, JKCA Yellow set a target of 138 runs for six wickets. Hardeep Singh remained top scorer with unbeaten 45-ball 50 runs while Rohit Bhatt and Amir Sofi contributed 16 and 17 runs respectively. From JKCA Green, Rohit Sharma (4-0-30-2) and Wasim Raza (4-1-21-2) were the most successful bowlers while Umar Nazir and Bandeep Singh shared apiece each.
In reply, JKCA Green could make 102 runs for eight wickets thereby lost the match. Rouf made highest 21 runs while Tasheen Dar, Wasim Raza and Adil Reshi added 13, 15 and 12 runs respectively. Deepak Manhas (4-0-19-3) and Parvez Rasool (4-0-16-2) were emerged as most successful bowlers.
Meanwhile, in other match of the day, JKCA Blues made it a narrow four-run win against JKCA Reds. Batting first, JKCA Blues scored 144 runs for five wickets with Imran Harron (40 off 33 balls) and Pranav Gupta (31 off 26 balls) being top run getters. Vishwajeet Singh and Parveen contributed 22 and 27 runs respectively. Vijay Dogra (4-0-20-3) bowled extremely well while Abid Nabi and Jahangir Lone took one wicket each.
In reply, JKCA Reds could make 140 runs in given 20 overs for eight wickets. Asir Khan made unbeaten 43-ball 40 runs while Ian Dev Singh (39 off 19 balls, 4x4, 3x6) and Sourav Chopra (18 off 11 balls) were other main scorers. From JKCA Blues, Vishwajeet Singh (4-0-23-3) and Ram Dayal (4-0-23-2) shared seven wickets while Omar Alam, Raman Dutta and Manik Gupta shared apiece each.
