Angry protestors burnt the effigy of State Government | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 24: Rebuking the recent withdrawal of Armed forces from Bani, several Panthers Party activists led by Pawan Dev Singh staged a protest demonstration at Press Club, Jammu and burnt the effigy of the state government amid raising slogans against the BJP-PDP coalition. While addressing the media Singh said that soon after the state government's decision to withdraw security forces from certain zones, the armed forces have been withdrawn from several areas of Bani like Dhaggan, Lohai-Malhar, Machedi, Chochrugala, Lohang and Roulka. As a result a feeling of psychosis and fear has brewed among the people of Bani constituency. It is pertinent to mention that earlier many villages of Bani were targeted by the militants and subsequently the armed forces were called upon for the protection of the people. He added that the withdrawal of armed forces would foster a security threat to the inhabitants of the area and reiterated his demand to revoke the withdrawal order of forces and re- deploy them without any delay to save the people from further death and destruction. Pawan Dev disclosed that the entire Bani-Bazar has shut down for expressing resentment against the withdrawal of the forces and expressed his solidarity with the people of Bani on behalf of NPP. He maintained the Panthers Party shall stand by the people of Bani in all odds and circumstances and warned the state government of dire consequences if any untoward incident happens in future and it shall only be BJP-PDP coalition including the local MLA who would be held responsible for such mishap. Others who led the protest included Thakur Virender Singh, Rishi Badyal, Shori Lal, Lovely Singh, Amit Singh, Shubam Singh, Shubam Jasrotia etc. |
