Achay Din in RS Pura as local MLA starts Bandhar Bhant in developmental works 3/25/2015 12:27:43 AM Panchayat members on war against MLA for ignoring deserving areas Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 24: Residents of RS Pura Assembly constituency are experiences Achay Din these days because the local BJP MLA has started Bandhar Bhant in the entire constituency within less than twenty five days after formation of PDP-BJP government in Jammu and Kashmir. Instead initiating developmental activities in the deserving areas, BJP MLA of R S Pura, Dr Gagan Bhagat has allegedly started developmental works in the undeserving areas. As the MLA is allotting developmental works in undeserving areas, anger is brewing among people who are striving for getting some projects in their respective areas. Due to approach of the MLA, developmental activities, particularly projects of Rural Development Department (RDD) have been stalled in many deserving villages of RS Pura assembly segment. Credible sources said that a group of Panchayat members of R S Pura had called on Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister a couple of days back. These Panchayats members brought to the notice of the Minister that the MLA concerned was mis-using his official position to give undue benefits to some of his blue-eyed boys and contractors. Delegations of Panchayat members had reportedly informed the ministersthat they had approached the MLA to start developmental projects in the deserving areas but the newly elected legislator was not ready to listen to genuine grievances. The delegation sought intervention of the Minister to ensure developmental works, especially of Rural Development Department should be sanctioned in the deserving areas. The Panchayat members have also started a mass movement in the R S Pura area to mobilize the people against attitude of the MLA. The Panchayat members have also decided to approach other ministers to aware them against wrong approach of the MLA. Panchayat members have also warned to launch agitation against local MLA for ignoring deserving areas in sanctioning projects. Credible sources said that Panchayat members are also thinking to bring this matter to the notice of the BJP leadership.
